At the Connemara/Mayo Blackface Breeding Group’s premier breeding sale, farmers told me of their disillusionment with Irish Farmers’ Association and concern about supports for sheep and suckler farmers in the west. The sale demonstrated the value of agricultural activity in the more marginal land areas.
